For Immediate Release
Montreal, Quebec – July 13, 2020 – Montreal artist, Kevin Jenne, has created a collection of large format abstract oil paintings produced by a unique method of smashing ice and snow creating distressed surfaces that resemble imaginary land and skyscapes. Inspired while in COVID19 quarantine, Mr. Jenne is inviting the public to participate in the performative art, and cathartic, experience of smashing ice and snow onto a canvas outside NDG’s Atelier d’Art Métèque from July 21 to 25 between noon and 5 PM. This unique approach to creating art represents the frustrations of living during COVID19 and leads to a painting of peace, or not.
“Kevin Jenne is an art machine – constantly pushing his creativity and techniques, he never ceases to surprise me. We are thrilled to host a crowd of art enthusiasts to our gallery to smash snow and ice onto canvas in this interactive art event,” stated Carolina Echeverria, Artistic Director Atelier d’Art Meteque. “Only Kevin would dare to create an ice storm in July, during a heat wave!”
Mr. Jenne’s interactive “Summer Ice Storm” is one of a series of weekly performative art events being hosted by Atelier d’Art Métèque in N.D.G. Atelier d’Art Métèque and Mr. Jenne are inviting the public to exercise their quarantine frustrations by throwing ice and snow onto canvas in mid summer! Mr. Jenne’s new collection, from this unconventional process, will be on site for viewing and to inspire peace.
The exhibition and interactive experience runs July 21st to July 25th, 2020 with visitors are welcome daily from 12 PM (noon) to 5 PM.
